Oh I see. it was "tactical reasons" because the person who made the call felt that the left handed Saffie batsmen will have problems playing the off spin of Chase.
Chase bowled 4 overs for 46 runs and got 1 wicket....
@Trex
how much wickets did anyone else get? Hosein just got caned in SA before the world cup. It was a fair decision
@methodic
Hosein was not bowled in the power play in SA
Also India is not South Africa
Finally in all the games so far in the WC Hosein has been on point
That is why the decision was dotish
@Trex
Bro this is not Roston of the past.This Chase just bowls. Doesn't bowl off-spin, doesn't grip the ball tight, doesn't spin it. Just turns his arm over. He bowls Slow Right Arm. 😃And it is not like SLA which at least turns.😃. His doesn't drift, hang nor turn anymore
@Trex
Hosein got mauled in RSA recently where he went at 11 an over and got only 3 wickets. Yes Chase to the lefties was the right move.
@pariaman
The pitch was similar to the South african pitches as it had good bounce, pace and it was true. Plus South Africa has played 4 of their 5 games here so they were very familiar with this ground. I am waiting to see how they will perform on a pitch that offers some turn.
These World Cup fixtures are in South Africa s favour.
It's their tournament to lose right now.
But Chase was selected to dismiss QDK and he did.
I would have sooner dropped Joseph but

Two conclusions from your response.
1: You are either a cricket novice or
2: You are not really following the cricket and here is why.
Hosein is your best opening bowler in the T20 format, logic therefore dictates you play your best opening bowler in this format.
Your premise that Hosein got caned in SA does not hold water because the captain/coach did not use him as the opening bowler in the power play, the part of the game where he is the best.
The idea of not bowling a guy or not selecting a guy because of this match-up nonsense is just that, nonsense.
You have a right hander and a left hander opening the batting for SA, where is the match-up logic in that scenario? Is he going to bowl his 4 overs against only one batter?
Make all this make sense, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
