Shai Hope, you lost the game.

Strike at your normal SR of 160 we woould have scored 20 more runs.

But I suspect that batting strategy came from the coach.

We needed to aim for 60 runs in the power play even if we had lost 2 wickets.

We left plebty of resources in the shed.

Wrong strategy in the powerplay.

I think de COurteous one has been consistent on this....I see his point now...it's more about the rate in the PP...even if you lose 2 wickets

@FuzzyWuzzy

Not me...I know the value of utlizing batting resources. Cut down on the dot ball percentages and make use of the limited boundary fielders.

I believe the entire brains trust is too conservative in the powerplay. and they do it consistently.

Logic tells me a couple of things in T20:

If your strength is power hitting and you bat deep, you ought to be able to take advatage of the powereplay.

And secondly, if your bowling is weak, you have got to put runs on the board to give your bowlers some leeway. The batting team will always seek to exploit this even if they lose 2 wickets.

Taking risks and scoring ugly runs is always better than dot balls. If you lose 2 wickets then you can always readjust.

If I had my way, the entire brains trust would be out of West Indies cricket. Through consistently failed startegies, it is placably clear that they do not understand the game.

When Rovman was interviewed he said we were 15-20 runs short. We left runs in the powerplay.

......................

Shai hope striking @ 160 would have give us 19 more runs. That's it right there.

You watched the innings. Quit blaming the coach for everything. It is clear that Shai Hope allowed the bowlers to shut him down. What strategy would have him striking at 100 in the PP.

The coach's orders would have been to play your natural game which is 130+ s/r .

Hope is a stroke player; he relies on timing and rhythmic flow. A good friend of mine (RIP) often think cricket is like screwing, so days you beat the pokey and another day it makes a fool out of you.

@hubert

Thanks bruh. this is not rocket science. I believe our decision makers are just not up to the task.

You work with your strengths and your opponents weaknesses.

Samspson has a major weakness against pace bowling, particularly the short ball. Other teams in the semis will exploit this.

Were we aware of this?

Well if these level cricketers don’t know that yet, they should find another trade. This is the first match in many a tears that I got a little excited watching WI cricket, or at least since Lara retired --- win or lose Lara gave you something to appreciate.

I could not understand why with three overs to go WI was saving wickets. They should have swing for the fences on every ball.

I think when all is said and done; India just refuses to lose, while WI hoped to win.

Fully agree, games are won by small.margins.

We were building great momentum in the PP when Chase went down with something small.

Lost momentum for the next 6/7 balls after it and I believe now, it could have cost us the match
