...People are actually talking cricket...This WC run had the Caribbean buzzing...People who have not watched cricket for a long time actually tunes in...I was picking up a Jamaican breakfast this weekend and I told the Host that I needed to pick up and go as I had to catch the cricket match and she said someone just left saying the same thing. Even on this board, posters who lost interest are showing up one by one.

We need to build on this. Excitement is coming back in West indies cricket. President Shallow please get behind Dehring to have a proper FC season where fans are engaged. Where is the schedule ? What are the teams? Market these guys on FB, X Erc. I willing to sponsor.

Paddnah... when you start a post like this........

First time in a long time......People are actually talking cricket...

then, I can understand why you got no response thus far...

REALLY???

You talk to 2 people and boom, you draw that conclusion?

You need a bigger sample size....

Everyone who follows cricket, still follow cricket throughout time for the most part.... but the difference is........ people are fed up with wondies cricket hitting a low and staying there for YEARS......

Will Sammy be able to move Windies up the rankings? That's the bottom line........

Yes he will.

I hope so for the sake of our cricket......

More people spoke about cricket when we beat Australia and Pakistan in Test Cricket.

To be fair then we cuss out the players.

Thanks to Sammy we now cuss out him and Admin and generally leave the players alone....except for Chase.

@Trex

Arguably way more people in the region were talking cricket after 27 all out.

@imusic

I suspect many persons jumped back on board the Windies Train the day before the 27 all out because of the young bowlers doing well against the Aussie Batsmen.

Many persons decided to watch West Indies Cricket again....only to tune in and have hopes dashed by the 27 all out.

I see no lies here.

Well, for the first time in a long while the WI team did not have a disappointing performance in a match in a tournament. However, it is March now and the WI's first-class match schedule is not public yet, that might help to keep the conversation going

Thu, Mar 5, '26 at 7:03 AM

@imusic

Sammy propaganda it is for sure. Lies and embellishments.

27 all out out can never be Sammy's fault. Why? How long had he taken charge of the test team?

The Caribbean buzzed because of nepotism and thinkers with sinister agendas.

God willing if he does bring about a resurgence in WI cricket I hope you commend with the same vigor.

@voiceofreason

You are delusional.

Whenever a world cup is around, there is buzz around cricket.

Stop trying to prop up Scammy.

When there is world cup soccer.

people are buzzing.

When there is the Olympics, people are buzzing.

Windies cricket is still the big disappointment it was before the world cup.

Windies beat up on one team that counts.

That is Hingland.

Windies still using Scammy outdated technique of saving wickets for a late burst.

No effort in PowerPlays etc.

Power plays were terrible throughout the tournament.

We know that is Scammy's rule.

Stop please stop trying to obfuscate.

Your shenanigan cannot fool us.

Scammy is a unqualified punk-a$$ want-to-be coach.

allyuh vicious champ ....foot nah come off de throat!!😀

Thu, Mar 5, '26 at 9:17 AM

@CCW

Hell no.

He failed at the most basic things.

He needs to change that philosophy of going soft in the powerplay and trying to catch up later.

My primary teachers used to say, 'Time loss can never be made up'.

Even if a team score 200 plus in overs 7 to 20,

You can;t make up for the runs missed in the power play.

This philosophy of soft start to save wicket caused our on-doing in the Super Eights.

Imagine 45 without loss in semis.

Their highest PP total were:

55-2 versus Zimbabwe

55-3 versus Hingland,

These were recipes for disasters.
