We accept too much mediocrity.

Most facets of life in this region suffer from this malaise.

We hardly set standards...and when we do, we don't ensure adherence to these standards. No rigid evaluation...no one is held accountable...just pure fuckery.

The President of CWI was all over the place singing the praises of the West Indies team for what? Reaching the Super 8..

For chrissakes, we did not make it to the semi finals. This is where the big boys dwell. We failed.

On a side issue, why isn't there any focus on teaching our women how to bat. Few of those women can play a coverdrive. Ah well...we like it so.

Apart from Hayley...no one on the team can play a coverdrive confidently. All of them use their bottom hand to bat and play across the line.

Where are the coaches? Who is evaluating output? Are we happy with this standard?

I would suggest strongly that they watch the Rolls Royce of women batters LAURA WOLVAARDT.

It was pathetic what I saw in the recent regional tournament. There were two half decent players emerging from the tournment. The Barbados wicket-keeper...Springer?...can't recall her name now. I am sorry. She can be invested in as a keeper batsman. The other is the 17- yearBarbados opening batter Eboni Brathwaite. She is in the current T20 squad,. She has power but like the majority of her teammates, she relies exclusively on her bottom hand.

I would advocate for a professional coach to work with her from early to develop her offside play.
