Perspective from an opposing side’s fan: first time in decades that a Windian side has had me more than worried, maybe even a little scared.
For a long time now, maybe post Walsh and Ambrose, I’ve been casually confident of my team India beating WI.
And post Lara they haven’t even worried me. Guys like Gayle, Chanders, Sarwan, good but I always though we could handle them
This last game though! Without exaggeration the sheer physicality of your batsmen, their hitting power actually brought back brief flashes of the 80s and part of the 90s. They were almost frightening.
Chase, Heymeyer, Powen and Holder. Holder’s sixes were stunning.
Seriously guys what happened and how did your bats suddenly (if briefly) bring to mind the dominance of your batsmen of the past? 😀
Bowling is an area of concern, but It feels that there’s something very good that’s happened in the WI team. Even is it’s ‘only’ T20.
I hope this momentum is not frittered away.
The world needs a strong (er) WI team.
