this thread is absurd in its ridiculousness. west indies won that those world cups because chris gayle was the best t20 player in the world, Marlon Samuels is the man of finals and trinidad was one of if not the best domestic t20 team(s). the windward islands hydra and the big idiot had no role in those triumphs. daren ganga who wasn't even on both teams had a bigger influence on those titles. west indies exited those two 50 over world cups in absolutely humiliating fashion and only defeated one full member nation in either tournament: bangladesh in 2011 and Pakistan in 2015. they were fortunate those were the last two 50 over world cups with a large number of associate teams. in 2011, they lost to india despite a five for from Ravi rampaul, while only chasing 268 in a tournament teams regularly crossed 300. lost badly to SA in a match where darren bravo scored 73 and dj bravo scored 40 and sammy's tactics were literally all over the place. in 2015 they did worse....lost to ireland who were still an associate, conceded 400 runs in the tournament from SA and 393 from NZ. including the highest ever world cup individual score. in 2019 they had the worst performance ever by a world cup West Indian team, losing 6 of their nine matches, again beating one full member and one associate and mercifully having the south africa game rained out because we have not beaten them in a 50 over world cup game since 2003 and that side, as potentially good as it was was captained by a bird
