NATO rebuffed Trump request for assistance with Hormuz

Mon, Mar 16, '26 at 4:37 PM

Strait of Hormuz: US President Donald Trump criticized allies who have rebuffed his demands to assist the US in fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz, as administration officials work to rally support for a coalition. No countries have yet committed to sending warships to the key waterway, which Iran claims is operating under “special conditions.”

German Chancellor says this is not a NATO war. 😀

The PNM bought vessels, but they don't work and are moored at Stables Bay in T&T.

One of the reasons T&T needs help is porous borders.

Lack of maintenance.

Slippy

You venture into a land that nearly killed Alexander the Great and act like an idiot. Claiming you are winning againsr Iran.

Iran has about 93 million people. Roughly 80 million are religiously conservative nut cases, and around 2 million serve in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; more nutcases. Some in that force speak of martyrdom and rewards in the afterlife.

Geography makes Iran hard to conquer. It is mountainous, has deserts, and includes large swampy areas, terrain that is extremely difficult for ground forces. It’s not an easy conquest, as Vladimir Putin is finding out in Ukraine.

A roughly 26-mile waterway is critical for oil and gas traffic. Yet you decide to attack because of the actions of extremist Israeli leadership.

Now Donald Trump is asking for help, confronting a problem he helped create. Meanwhile, a former Speaker of the House has suggested detonating hydrogen bombs in the desert to create a new sea passage for ships, an appalling and reckless idea.

Where does America find leaders who seem to be missing the grey matter between their earlobes? Oh America, it seems you haven't learned from the past.
