Who was the Head Coach when West Indies won the T20 WC in 2012?
Who was the HC when South Africa beat Australia 3-1 in a test series? South Africa's first test series win over Australia.
again this is why I state a windward islander should not be in charge of anything to do with WI cricket. You all know nothing about high performance in cricket. Ottis had the bulk of one of the best domestic t20 teams in the world as his core, the almost unbeatable Trinidad and Tobago Red Force which reached the finals of the inaugural Champions league t20, beating the Australian, IPL and English title holders on their way to the final. That is still unprecedented by any Caribbean side in t20 cricket. In fact they beat the IPL champions twice and nearly defended 90 versus a packed Mumbai Indians outfit, which again, is unprecedented in Caribbean t20 cricket. Ottis had the best t20 batsman in Christopher Henry Gayle OD, who was persecuted both by Ottis and the vile Windward Island administration which appointed him. Whenever people talk about that team, they talk about three factors that contributed to the win: The Trinidad and Tobago team, Christopher Gayle and the finals king Marlin Nathaniel Samuels. Ottis is mentioned nowhere. Sammy is mentioned as a footnote
and South Africa’s first test series win over Australia was in 2008. JP duminy scored a match winning hundred in the 2nd test at Perth, followed by an AB special at the MCG in the following test.

He may not be a good head coach, how you rate him as a bowling coach?
@natty_forever
Anybody who can have no issue with the exiling and disappearance of his best fast bowler ain’t a good bowling coach. Jerome Everton Taylor, our most gifted paceman since Holding, NEVER played a test match for the WI under Ottis. And his peak years should have coincided with the ugly man’s tenure because Jerome was only 25 when he mauled England at Sabina park. And this is at a time when the WI had plenty quality batsmen like Gayle, Darwin, Darren bravo in the wings, Dwayne bravo and only three quality bowlers in Taylor, roach and rampaul.

"Jerome Taylor's tenure under coach Ottis Gibson (approx. 2010–2014) was defined by intense efforts to manage his fitness and reintegrate him into the West Indies side following major back injury issues. Gibson closely monitored Taylor's return, aiding his comeback for the 2010 World T20 and managing his workloads into 2014. "

In an interview with British tabloid newspaper, the Daily Mail, Holding accused WICB chief executive Ernest Hilaire of arrogance and head coach Ottis Gibson of being unable to properly manage players.
Holding also charged that the reason for the absence of key senior players for the current England tour was because of the poor treatment meted out to them by the WICB.
Ottis Gibson needs to understand that the West Indies cricket team is not a boot camp. He needs to learn how to man-manage.”
He continued: “A lot of the senior players who should be playing in England have a very bad relationship with the board. They are unhappy with the treatment that has been meted out to them.
“It’s about time the board realised that the people they are dealing with are human beings – they are not commodities. They need respect. They need to be treated properly.”
The injury-prone Taylor has played 29 Tests and 66 One-Day Internationals but has not suited up in two years for the regional side.
Holding also lashed out at the Board’s persistence with Darren Sammy as the choice of captain, saying the move was damaging to the regional side.
the only injury I know could keep you out of cricket for a two year period is a stress fracture of the back, and even then that was so in the days of Bishop and co. Treatment has moved leaps and bounds since then. And Taylor only had a strain, not a fracture
@Jumpstart
Noticed they said regional side. Is that the same as the West Indies?
Well Ottis is not the administration, and not the coach, he is the fast bowling consultant, and his record as that has been good.

Again, that is debatable. WI went to India in 2012, only dismissed India twice in five innings, conceded over 650 once and over 450 once. Went to England the next year and again only dismissed England twice in three tests. Compare that to what was taking place before homie came in. A packed England squad dismissed for 47 causing us to win our first Wisden Trophy in 11 years. Giving Australia an almighty scare down under when an umpiring error was the difference between 1-1 and 2-0. Our first drawn series in NZ in 13 years. First and only win in SA( Jerome Taylor took three wickets in each innings of that test by the way)
