@FunnyMan

All that said... went and got some used clubs for my son over the weekend and he will have a few "pro" lessons before I take him to a Pitch n Putt course this Summer.

I remember Butch Harmon saying on TV that when it comes to kids and golf the best thing for them is play the sport and have fun with other kids their age (under the supervision of a coach) at a local league/club rather than individual lessons. When they get older and progress to a certain level that is the time they will need one on one coaching/lessons with a professional instructor.

@SnoopDog

Thank you. I will keep that in mind.

This is basically a way for him to be properly introduced to the sport.. don't want him to start off doing what he feels like doing.

He has played a lot of mini golf, but that's not comparable. That's only using a Putter and the artificial turf with obstacles all over.

He's in a class with others his age and the instructor will be coaching them accordingly.

@FunnyMan

Sounds like a nice way for you to get him into the sport.

The weather has been nothing but abysmal here in the frozen north so my first round for the year will have to wait for a few more weeks.
