Ambrose dub Wickham a 'special talent'
@Castled
Batting on a flat wicket against an attack that doesn’t have much pace, and odean is a mind the windows sort of bowler. I’ve seen this script with shai hope so I reserve judgement
@Castled
Kevin Wicham.
The first time I heard of the Younster was on the Mason Show; he was not playing in the Elite division, but was called on a Thursday to represent the Barbados Juniors in that division.
Bingo, he scored a ton and was invited to the Mason show.
The next time him scoring a ton in his first U19 tournament for the West Indies, he replaced guys during Covid.
His dad died a couple of years ago,, he is someone we should keep an eye on, this guy reminds me of Seymour Nurse.
Elegant and, classy.
@openning
You are correct, he made 4 centuries (3 in regional 4days and 1 in OD before playing on the dead track for 3 more, (see Jump-ass), he made runs before the 3 on a dead track.
@tc1
i am not detracting from his achievements over the past couple weeks as no one else has done the same but wasnt he branded as a 30s batsman just up to last year (a nice 30 something and then out). We have to celebrate the man but also realise that these are his good days. Not his everydays
@PalsofMine
The kid travels under the radar (See Openning post), he had a 40 plus avg until last year, where he only made 1 good score of 95, but he had 3 tons in red ball before the age of 21 and 1 OD ton. 2 years ago, he lost his dad and seems to lose focus after missing a game or 2 during that period. I experience grief as my wife passed last month and my 3 daughters are still in denial over her passing, I know it had to be hard on him to focus during that time.
Anthony is a fan of Kwick , the kid is a natural and I would like him and others of similar talents to get to play in Aussieland/ other top-rated programs to fine tune their skills.
@tc1
Wickham, the 18-year-old Barbadian, was not in the initial team and was introduced after Covid-19 ruled out a handful of players. But he did not let the opportunity go to waste, producing a century and two half-centuries in his four innings in the competition.
My condolences to you and your children on the loss of your wife.
@openning
Thanks my bro, you know of Kevin talents, he is so humble. I wish him all the best and hopefully he continues to work on his game.
@tc1
Condolences on your loss, Brother.
We all wish young Wicks well, I hope. It is just that we need to temper expectations and hope that he has the individual focus and drive to make it to the top once given an opportunity.
Watching de yute over those 2 fixtures. He's a natural will he fulfill that talent? That's the million dollar question.
