Barbados appointed Kraigg Brathwaite as captain for the current regional 4 day tournament

Barbados also selected WI test captain Roston Chase as a player in their squad

Why is Chase, as WI test captain, who needs as much captaincy experience as he can get, get relegated to a supporting player under Kraigg Brathwaite, who was dropped from the WI team?

What message does that send to Chase, WI head coach & chief selector Sammy, and the region as a whole?

There is no written rule that the captain of the international team must also captain their club or franchise. Barbados Pride is a franchise, isn't it? Suryakumar Yadav captains India's T20I team. In fact he just captained India to winning the T20 World Cup. Yet he plays under Hardik Pandya for the Mumbai Indians. Mitchell Marsh who captains Australia in T20I plays under Ashton Turner in the Big Bash etc etc etc. I say all that to say Chase being captain of the WI does not mean he has to captain Barbados Pride. We don't see Hope appointed captain of Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL just because he is the WI T20I captain.

If you cannot perform as a captain and player at regional level then you will not be able to do the same at international level

we wasn't talking about tits and the last tit batting close to chase and discount crabby averages more than both(darren bravo at 36 even though he has not played for nearly 6 years for the WI).....plus he averages 57.95 in Asia
