What Really Happened To Patrick Patterson?

He was once the most feared fast bowler in the world — bowling so fast that even legends refused to face him. But then, he vanished. No interviews, no farewells, nothing. This is the mysterious story of Patrick Patterson — the fastest bowler who disappeared.

A chat with Patterson

The most fearsome of Caribbean pacers disappeared into oblivion in the 1990s. Patrick Patterson is still around, though he does not quite remember the man he was, or his bowling spells which went down in history. But he is grateful for the dogged fan who travelled half-way around the world to his door — to hear his story.

I met him during his spell at Lancashire in England. A very pleasant, polite young man and clearly enjoying the experience.

Watching him bowl that day was the most impressive display of out and out pace you could ever imagine. Nobody has ever bowled faster. Cozier said it, regarding a spell in Trinidad if memory serves me correctly - Patterson bowled as fast as a man can bowl.

Dun kno.SMH. Anyway Patto was so hurt by Richie Rich's action that even when Viv went to seek him out he never responded. Who "finds a man who isn't lost? Lost to who perhaps..
