Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early evening in parts of southern Ontario as a cold front slices through the hot and humid air mass

Atmospheric conditions could be favourable for strong thunderstorms from Lake Huron and southeast of Georgian Bay between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Thunderstorms are expected to track through the GTA between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

At 7:17 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an extremely dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing destructive wind gusts.

Thunderstorm Location: Binbrook to Empire Corners to Selkirk Provincial Park

Motion: Moving quickly to the east at 90 km/h

Hazards:

Wind: destructive (130+ km/h)

Risk of tornado

Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm)

Quite a few trees down on Escarpment. A tornado must be terrifying.

That wind was nasty , combined with rain and hail....not nice.

Hoping no one got injured....

Temperature dropped from 34 deg C with humidity to a present 18 deg C with no humidity,

within 3 hours.
