thats the meat of the matter
Guyanese captaincy was weak
@allan
Their first blunder was omitting Looknauth whom took 6 wickets in the last match and batted pretty well in the tournament… Why they’re persisting with Permaul is beyond comprehension knowing he will never get back the WI team and the process undermining promising young talent… And Dropping Lewis early in his inning, whom went on to score a ton and making Seales looks like a top order batsman didn’t help…
Guyana lost their advantage in the match on the first day when both Joseph and Paul cramped up around the same time forcing Imlach to bowl the spinners on a pitch that was more favorable to pace. At that time Trinidad was around 105/6. However, the last wicket stand between Phillip and Seales turned out to be the difference in the match. the Guyanese may have erred in leaving out Looknauth
@natty_forever
So, which is it, weak captaincy or weak team?
Both... Holistically bad decisions... Am almost sure he's some input in team selection...
@pariaman
I disagree with both. Imlach is right now probably the best captain in the West Indies. Once he straightens out his batting he will be a West Indies captain and a stalwart on the team.
Guyana team is a good team, somebody has to lose that does not make them a weak team.
Guyana needs to find a #3 batter, Imlach should not bat at that position after kneeling and bending for hours wicket-keeping. However, he is an okay captain, no other present captain in the region has his good record in wins of championships
@dayne
Guyana needs to find a #3 batter,
Gotta bring Sars outta retirement...😀
Not bringing in the spinners to wrap up the tail at the end of the Red Force second innings before close of play on the third day was criminal
The commies were wondering whats up with that!
Reality is that was a very poor decision
GHE was out captained during that last match
