KFC Clarke Road United secured a place in the Premiership One semi-finals with a hard-fought 20-run victory over Merryboys Sports Club in their final Group B match of the CPL/TKR TTCB Trinidad T20 Festival at the Queen’s Park Oval on Wednesday night.Clarke Road posted 228 for seven from their 20 overs after strong contributions from Nicholas Sookdeosingh 44, Kjorn Ottley 36, Mark Deyal 30 and Vikash Mohan 29. Clinton Pestano finished unbeaten on 41.

In reply, Merryboys reached 208 all out in 19.4 overs. Justin Manick top-scored with 45, while Andrew Rambaran blasted 42 off 15 balls and Luke Ali made 38.Kerwyn Sirju led the Clarke Road attack with four for 29, while Pestano and Mark Deyal took two wickets each to seal the win. The result confirms Clarke Road’s place in the semi-finals, where they will meet defending champions Nu-Iron Queen’s Park Cricket Club from 3 p.m. today.

Bess Motors Marchin Patriots face Preysal Sports in the other semi-final from 7 p.m. on the same day.
