Botham had a short fuse an didn't he at the very least threaten Ian Chapell or worse? ...an Flintoff is not far behind i seem to remember he made a veiled threat at Dwayne Bravo passed off as "banter" ....must be something about these Henglish all rounders!!

@CCW

the worse i heard is he ran after chappell in a parking lot. does that compare to this

https://news.sky.com/video/footage-shows-ben-stokes-brawl-11463564. this was the fight that caused stokes to be charged with affray...and somehow beat the charge

the worse flintoff told bravo was that he wouldn't last long in international cricket.......and of course we know the west indies board and west indies selectors did more damage to bravo's career than words from flintoff ever could. in hindsight bravo probably says that's the best thing so he didn't have to rely on WICB's mess of pottage

Well, having a pint is deeply imbedded in that culture, why would society expect the sportsmen to behave differently? Stokes has a leadership personality so that comes with the good and the bad.

 Stokes has a leadership personality so that comes with the good and the bad.

Gayle, bravo, and sarwan were leaders. i never here them do this. and pollard only issued fatherly corrections on tino. if he really wanted to hurt him he would have looked a lot different than he looks today

agreed there is different versions to the Botham/Chappell confrontation nevertheless it is patently obvious that the Henglish generally speaking cannot hold their drink , lived in Hengland for over 40years an we Windians use to look at them in the pubs an shake we heads as to how stupid they used to behave after a few pints....on the other hand i think they use to marvel at us how we use to switch from beer to spirits an still be cognizant come closing time.....nuh worry world cup starting soon yuh goin see de Henglish in dey glory esp when dey lose both at home or if dey have travelled over for the tournament!!

@Halliwell

I fail to understand why a man in his mid 30's put himself in a nightclub. Last time I went into one in London I looked around and I'd say 80 % of the people in it was at least 10 yrs younger than me. I was around 38 at the time. In fact a girl recognized me who I knew when she was around 8 yrs old. That was embarrassing enough. People like Ben Stokes should enjoy themselves in private clubs with his peers and family plus fellow celebs.

if yuh can't handle your liquor...then don't drink. you hear about some horrific accidents in that part of the world, worse than most of the accidents that happen in the caribbean and you know the reason why.

this is about the fourth time stokes has made an absolute jackrass of himself, the second involving a nightclub. im proud to say we never heard about our players in this trash, not even the superstars

Well, the latest News is that both Stokes and Atkinson were excluded from the 2nd Test team and Root was appointed captain, jumping over Brooks who was vice-captain because Brooks had a similar incident last year in a bar. Going to the bar and drinking until they want to fight is a common act
