Sri Lanka have won the toss and have opted to bat

Thu, Jun 11, '26 at 8:05 PM

So how come the match referee didn’t see the toss and made then redo?

Sri Lanka chose to bat

Shai Hope: We have to make sure we don't play too many dot balls. We have to adapt quickly. It's been a quick turnaround, we know each other very well. We've got two spinners - Chase and Akeal, Motie misses out and four seam options.

Kusal Mendis: We opt to bat. Very nice to lead the team. The guys supported me in the one-day series as well. Little bit hard to play in Jamaica in the middle overs and death overs. I hope our guys do well. Three seamers and two spinners.

Pitch Report | Jimmy Adams: There is a little bit of drizzle in the air but the clouds are high. The groundstaff has done a lot of rolling. It's hard, even bounce and nice carry.

Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis are at the crease.

Pathum Nissanka is on strike.

Akeal Hosein will open the attack

Thu, Jun 11, '26 at 8:33 PM

0.1

Akeal Hosein to Pathum Nissanka, 3 runs, round the wicket, loosener from Akeal. 87.4kph, short outside off and Nissanka gets off the mark by cutting it through cover. Heavy outfield and hence the ball doesn't have the legs to reach the fence

Akeal Hosein to Pathum Nissanka, FOUR, 90.9kph, fraction short, slides on with the arm and Pathum Nissanka is quick to rock back and pull it in front of square on the leg-side. The deep square leg fielder runs to his right but can't prevent the boundary

1.5

Matthew Forde to Kusal Mendis, 1 run, dropped! 131kph, Kusal Mendis walks across early to play the premeditated lap shot. Doesn't get the timing right. Sherfane Rutherford hares in from deep backward square leg and outstretches his hands but fails to hold onto it. Although tough, it'll go down as a chance

Matthew Forde to Pathum Nissanka, FOUR, 133kph, poor delivery - full and down leg, easy pickings for Nissanka who flicks it square of the short fine leg fielder. Matthew Forde is livid with himself

Akeal Hosein to Kusal Mendis, FOUR, to deep mid-wicket

@Narper

Forde is a joke

Thu, Jun 11, '26 at 8:45 PM

3.2

Matthew Forde to Kusal Mendis, SIX, 125.7kph, length ball on off, Kusal Mendis walks across to get inside the line and scoops it beautifully over fine leg. Comes right off the middle of the bat

3.1

Matthew Forde to Kusal Mendis, SIX, 128.5kph, Forde pitches up and gets punished. Kusal Mendis slightly bends his back leg, gets under the ball and smokes it downtown for an 85 m six. That made a cracking sound
