Ackeem Auguste will get his chance.

Will he make use of it or like the multitude of players before him squander his opportunity?

Ackeem at a very, very tender age lived and breathed cricket and his parents invested significantly in helping him achieve his dream of playing for the West Indies,

He has made enornous strides in his academic and professional development but in a country with a dearth of professional cricketers his cricketing development has been nothing short of miraculous. By dint of hard work he has put himself in a position to knock on the door of West Indies cricket hoping that he will get an opportunity to be part of the region's cricketing legacy.

What is crucial is that he accepts any opportunity with both hands and don't see it as "I have arrived."

He can take lessons from our two Nobel Laureates and our ace sprinter all of whom punched way above their weights to bring glory to Saint Lucia.

West Indies cricket can no longer afford the jokers who get into the side and do absolute nothing to improve their professional development. Players who are given the opportunity but recklessly give their wickets away time after time and faking disappointment.

@Courtesy

But, but you ignored Sammy's accomplishment?🤔

@sgtdjones

The mere fact that he would make a St. Lucian /WI cricket post and not mention Sammy's influence on both, makes the entire post a waste of cyberspace.
