The West Indies has recalled wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, which will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua from June 25 to July 7.

Da Silva, who amassed 996 runs across the last two seasons of the West Indies Championship, returns to the Roston Chase-led side alongside Amir Jangoo, the second-highest scorer from this year’s Championship.

The series signals the start of the final stretch of the current World Test Championship cycle, which the Caribbean side will conclude this year with a home Test series against Pakistan and a two-match series tour of Bangladesh.

Da Silva is rightfully back.

Chase retained is a joke, he should be nowhere near the test side.

SLIPFIELDER - no McKenzie? This is one time i would listen to you make a case for him, instead you are silent.

@4REALQUICKS

The root cause of why the selectors have a problem is the initial selection of Chase and Waricon as captain and vice captain.

This put the whole structure of team selection in a bind especially when playing in pace friendly countries.

Think w would have won the series in NZ if we played an extra batsman over Chase.

Would prefer to see us go with the 4 quicks, plus Greaves and use Hodge when required.

This is the best tried and trusted formula for us to win any test

With Kemar Roach not available for participation in the recently concluded domestic 1st class tournament, what qualifies him for selection to the test squad?

Is he returning from injury?

@Conorboy

The root cause of why the SELECTOR HAS a problem is the initial AND CONTINUED selection of Chase and Waricon as captain and vice captain

It appears Da Silva doesn't have a godfather. However, his prolific scoring over two consecutive seasons could not be ignored. Glad to see him back in the mix, he certainly deserves it. Let's hope he can perform and cement his place on the Test team.
