Let's celebrate to WWI T20 victory.

We have to admit it, the second half of the game was ugly. No need to take risk with such a small total. Professional sides need to make light work of these situations.

...............................

The positives: Imho, the bowling of Chinelle Henry was very, very impressive. I have always been in awe of pace bowlers who are able to consistently move the ball away from right handers...this was great.

The fielding is improving...some tweaking with fileding square of the wicket on both sides where the ball changes direction.

I like the way Afy Fletcher was able to land the ball way outside the off stump to counteract the consistent sweeping by the Sri Lankers batters.

Kudos to Stefani Taylor...I remarked in earlier commentary here that she was too timid when batting in T20. She has made the adjustments to her batting in the last two games and all praise must go to her. She also seems to have gained a yard of pace running in the outfield. 😀

..........................

The not so pleasant: Hayley Mathews needs to recognise when she has the opposition on the ropes. The bowling changes seem to be robotic. There was no need to remove herself and Chinelle Henry from the bowling attack.with Sri Lanka at 54 for 3. The pressure should have been kept on.

Haley need to be more careful running between the wickets. She is risking herself and her partner getting runout.

Sri Lanka got almost 50 percent of their runs with the sweep shot and rotated the strike with their wrist work on the leg side. Good field placing would have made them change their strategy and limit the scoring on the leg side. The two new spinners must learn to bowl further outside off to limit sweep shot scoring.

Quina Joseph was left out of the side. She must now go and learn to bat and become leaner and also take the constant smile off her face.

There was no need to manufacture shots in chasing a small total.

The captain appeared to accept the approach by the batters...

@Courtesy

I would like to "big up" the coaching staff, as I see improvement, in tactics and squad selection, game by game.

The thing is I cannot find who they are on cricinfo.

I didn’t watch the game but it feels good to be 3 wins from 3 games, I am beginning to believe that we can win this world cup

Yep. It is apparent that the coaches ave accepted the team's limitations and are working with a medium to long term plan.

Achievements based on strategic imperatives must be rewarded.

It is mho that the coaching staff continue to work with the ladies for the medium term.
