This batting display will nott win or draw matches. On a dead pitch to boot.
All his batting did today was to confirm that he cannot bat.

This innings surely must disqualify Hodge from being selected to a West Indies test side for the foreseeable future.
@Courtesy
He normally does not play like this as he tends to be more positive in his stroke play. Probably out of form . His test hundred vs NZD was one of pure quality. I expect a better innings from him in the 2nd.
@voiceofreason
Probably out of form .
I wonder why you cannot give a definitive reason?
Perhaps there is none, except to conclude that he has shown that he is shit on a flat pitch.

Agreed.
He was given an opportunity despite his poor first class record. We have now seen that he is unable to advance beyond that level. We need to move on.
Hodge does not do well on slower pitches, most of his good scores were made out of the WI
@WalterWhite
He recently scored a test ton or is Regional cricket a higher level? You Uncles need to understand this is not the 70's and 80's and regional fc performance alone cannot be the sole criteria as the level is mediocre and insufficient cricket is played.
Give the youth a chance as he has over-achieved at this point.
@dayne
Good observation but this is a dead pitch. One would expect a much better performance on this wicket.
@voiceofreason
Bruh, there is no excuse for this mediocrity on a dead pitch.
Give a deserving youngster an opportunity. Why should West Indies cricket reward such...?

Youth at 33? Come on man. There is simply no indication that this guy can bat. Look at the difference between the approach of Greaves and Hope to his. All that was required here was normal batting.
