I am a bit surprised by this too. I would have preferred some first-class and List A cricket for sure before throwing him in at the highest level. I wondered why, if he was so good, didnt they play him in the first-class season. Hopefully he does well

Maybe playing on the “ICC Under-19 World Cup’s Team of the Tournament, where he impressed by claiming 10 wickets and bowling the highest number of dot balls during the competition” might taking precedence over playing in domestic cricket. Just saying!!

It is interesting that Lawes was not selected for the Jamaican team but is selected for the WI team. Hopefully, what Sammy is doing works out, he tried the same strategy with Andrew and so far it looks like it did not work out

This is Sammy's ego getting the better of him....if it comes off its genuis but he's not thinking about the effect of trying to force ripe a player that's not ready an the effect can have fuh the rest of his career... also he would be deliberately targeted by the opposition!

Lawes could not even make the emerging team that went to SL and yet is named in a WI squad. This seems like a bad case of gladness after the test victory.
