T&T youngsters ready for Barbados challenge
The Joshua Da Silva (JDS) Cricket Academy Under-15 squad will be aiming to gain invaluable regional experience after arriving in Barbados earlier this week for an eight-day developmental tour. The Trinidad and Tobago youngsters will be tested against some of Barbados’ leading cricket academies and schools from July 9-17, with the emphasis firmly on developing their tactical awareness and mental strength in unfamiliar conditions.
Head coach Aaron Kurbanali said the tour was about far more than results, insisting the exposure to Barbados’ rich cricket culture would play a key role in the players’ long-term development.
“This tour represents a massive step forward in the tactical and mental development of these young men. Testing their skills against different pitches and the rich cricketing culture of Barbados will provide invaluable experience that they can bring back to their school and club careers,” Kurbanali said.
