Social media provide the platform for many armchair experts to air their opinions and that is not necessarily a bad thing.

As in politics, it may well beca few people speaking loudly rather than the majority, with the aim to sway public opinion. Also the noise may seem louder depending on demographics.

The best way to silent your critics is by your performances. The prospects seem bright, the trend is in the right direction.

I'll be honest, fans just want the West Indies to do well. I was pleased when Sammy was appointed coach of the West Indies, despite not having the 'academic' qualifications. This was mainly because of his man management skills, something we all saw with his captaincy and his success in leading our team to 2 t20 World Cup titles. After seeing our storied team go through many embarrassing moments, I was one of the many calling for Sammy to be relieved of his duties. I always like when I'm proved wrong when it comes to the West Indies. I've said Hope isn't a t20 player and Carty bats too slowly to be successful in ODIs. Both of them have proved me wrong and my hope is that Sammy will do the same. I never lost respect for Sammy, I just want the best for the team. If we have turned a corner, then we stick with him.

Whether it is through consumate skill or blind luck, the needle has to move towards green for Sammy for his results over the summer so far. Continued good luck to him and the team. Next we need the crowds

I am going to say the things that most objective cricketing minds are thinking, but are aftaid to say. Twenty years ago Gus Logie, then coach of the West Indies team said: "insularity is killing West Indies cricket." If one was to examine the factuality of that statement twenty years ago, or even at this very moment, Logie's statement is frozen in time.

There always has been, and always will be sporadic displays of brilliance from the tribe of Benjamine. If you know, you know, they are the decendants of a regal bloodline blessed by the creator. I could elaborate on that a bit more, but most are not enlightened enough to comprehend it. However, I will say the 400 hundred years have passed in 2019 marked by an event no concious mind will ever forget.

West Indies cricket is the place where talent goes to die, why is that? The answer is simplier than you think, yet more profound than you want to admit. Bob Marley said it in a song, we parade about our business as free individuals, while the most important aspect of freedom is still enslaved, the mind.

It was obvious when the Leward Islands were given control of the management structure and Hilary set about dismissing the stars to build a star team. The Bible said every dispute known to mandkind stems from pride. Pride is the reason every great empire has crumbled, with the rut starting from the inside. How dare mercenaries like Gayle and company tell an educated professor how the business of cricket should be run?

In Russia they call it a useful idiot, I say there is a thin line between education and insanity. Sammy benefitted from a team that was on the incline from the perseverance of Gayle and company. Hilary lacked the managerial skills that would have bridge the distance between star power egos, team benefit and propulsion. Peel back a few layers of the premier sporting event happening now.

It is not just coaching, magerial staff, and players that should be in focus. Every aspect of the game requires introspection. There are some commentators that have a birdseye view to the players. They too have a responsibility to the setup. No one is asking to be as bias as England, Australia, or New Zealand commontators. Ganger and company have plenty to say, they must have the perception of being impartial. While Bishop most respected with statue, presence, reputation, almost an embarrasment to be polically correct. He hasn't noticed, no one else cares.

When Hope announced himself in England's trying conditions, he did so with back to back centuries. He has talant, technigue and flare, but the pressure of the different formats got to his concentration and he fell away, in the longer format. What was the end result? Abandonent, as per usual, and that can be attributed to so many players.

In case you are wondering, I am from the Leward Islands, and I don't believe Sammy should have the responsibility he has. Stop for a minute to ascertain if, the players who are sometimes deserving of blame, are doing well in spite of the management, or lack of. I do not believe captancy should guarantee Chase a place in the team. However his last two performances were noteworthy, but cannot be his cornerstone.

The two centrurions of the last test, should form the nucleus of the team. I say that not because of the totality of their runs, but rather the aplication and determination. Not to mention the fact that they advanced the game by scoring and ehausting the fielding side.

I can say unequivocally the West Indies team has the potential to be at the top of all charts, but getting there will require astute planning, and difficult decissions free of mental incarceration. It is said that all men are created equally, that is a lie, which I can debunk with one word, melanin. If you know, you know but, we are electrical beings and you are not hated without reason.

Powen, I don't know everything, but there are somethings I do know. There are times when the players are deserving of the criticism metered out to them. But more often then not, they are asked to do a job without giving the revelant tools to accomplish it. Playing in countries unfamiliar with one warmup match. Picked on the WI team with not previous experience, Vitel Lawes. Not all will succeed.

My position is that insularity is more devastating to a cohesive group when used by management rather than creeping into players. The destructive force in the playing unit would be over inflated egos. Lara, Gayle, even Samuels had bouts with inflated egos. But it is something to managed, not dismiss. It takes a special character to believe you can go to the crease and score 400 runs.

Remember Ottis Gibson? He picked unqualified players, berate the star players, then expected optimum performance, without accepting accountability for his part in the debocle. That is still happening today.
