US Travel Warnings for Visitors to St. Lucia

Wed, Jul 15, '26 at 2:31 PM

Washington just changed how it talks about Saint Lucia. As of July 10 the State Department added a formal "Crime" indicator to the island's advisory and bumped it to Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution. The warning names armed robbery, assault, burglary and rape against visitors, some fatal, and says even guests at tourist resorts have not been spared. Police response times are flagged as slower than what Americans are used to at home. This is a tourism dependent economy taking a direct hit to its safety reputation on the world stage.

All these US travel warnings for the various Caribbean islands, yet none for United States? Considering the number of mass shootings, other gun violence, robberies, ICE racist attacks etc.
