How could Alzarri and Hope not know that “LBW review” was not going down the leg side?

Common sense will tell you that was at least on 5th stump

One slip in place for Gudakesh Motie

Henry Nicholls given out lbw and he reviews it quite quickly

not out

8.3

Gudakesh Motie to Nicholls, no run

Henry Nicholls given out lbw and he reviews it quite quickly. Looks like the impact is outside off. Oh hang on! There is a tiny spike as the ball went past the outside-edge. The faintest of inside-edges and that will be not out...

11.2

Vitel Lawes to Nicholls, out Bowled!! Vitel Lawes strikes second ball and he looks absolutely thrilled. Not a great deal of spin, just pitched and went straight on to hit the top of off. Nicholls was on the back foot trying to manufacture a cut square on the off-side and missed it completely.

Nicholls b Vitel Lawes 24(4cool [4s-3]

NZ 38-1(11.2) CRR:3.35

REQ:2.66

New Zealand need 103 runs

@Narper

Posted this a couple of days ago...

During the peak of the day, the blazing sun heats the pitch. This causes hot air to rise rapidly, creating microscopic "thermal turbulence" and convection currents above the surface. As the sun sets, this ground heating stops. The air immediately stabilizes and becomes incredibly smooth, allowing a spun or swerving ball to cut through the air with unbroken aerodynamic flow. (Physics)

When the humidity is high and the sun setting, Lawes will become exceptionally dangerous because these specific conditions created maximum air stillness, eliminating the thermal turbulence that usually disrupts flight movement.

He will be highly deceptive when finding his rhythm.

High humidity and when the sun is setting but CWI doesn't have the grey matter to propel him to higher levels.
