he shouldn't even have been playing....he just ain't ready to the point of being selected in preference to Jangoo or just about anybody else!!
That catch NOT Ackeem's fault cos...
@CCW
If the young players do not play, they will not develop and gain experience
@dayne
But he played only because of injuries. Carty is who I expect better from.
@dayne
Champ...dats a very simplistic answer....in dat case then why not bring in even more youngsters to develop an gain experience...we have to play our best available team cos we aiming for automatic qualification for the Odi world cup so Ackeem an Vitel promising as they are aren't quite ready!
@CCW
When are they going to be ready? How ? We play 3 super 50 games and 3 fc games a year how is that alone going to aid their development. They both played well and will be fine. We used Brandon King for 50 + odis with 27 average. Give the youths a chance.
@voiceofreason
Bruh I am wondering what the hoopla is all about.
How many youngersters that playing international cricket and start smoking it from day one?
Who are the other options at this time to open if not Ackeem
Have the other incumbents fared any better?
Who have been the opponent and in what conditions has Ackeem gotten his initiation?
Has he been an an abject failure?
Does he deserve his "run" before we can start barking?
Bruh if you ask me, what I am seeing is a whole bunch of nepotism and myopic thinking by most - not all.
Some are mere conservative thinkers and traditionalist.
Others have little idea of what Ackeem brings to the table talent-wise.
Some are genuinely concerned that this will stunt or damage his development.
I profer that, this fear is unfounded given the machinery that backs ups this lad. I assure you that even if there are hiccups, it will not derail his upward trajectory.
I am quietly optimistic. There are those who's intentions are either to mocked or relegate to insignificance the yute man. But he will confound the naysayers. So, let them talk.
Our turn will come.
@InHindsight
@InHindsight
How many series or months are you giving him to prove himself?
It must be a finite amount
Ten years from now we cannot still be waiting for him to perform
@CCW
The statement that Akeem should not be in the team is a foolish one and shows a lack of cricketing knowledge.
The reality is that we simply do not have a strong enough first-class system to prepare our cricketers for the next level. Slectors have to identify and back young players, give them opportunities, and give time time to come good. I hated the way guys like McKenzie was discarded.
What I do have an issue with is the way Sammy has treated Jangoo. In my opinion, the only batsman who should be ahead of Jangoo in the pecking order is Shai Hope. Akeem certainly should not be making the team ahead of Jangoo.
Jangoo has shown some steal. Performing even when he is not given the opportunites others have been given!
