Maybe he should given another crack at test cricket cos he's patently not suited to Odi's even though his ave is decent(41.22) his s/r( 37 last night) 75.55 overall ...he's not able to rotate the strike an soaked up a ridiculous amount of dot balls which invariably puts additional pressure on whoever is batting with him...so worth another try in tests so he can bat within his comfort zone!
What to do with Keacy Carty??
He was forced into one-day cricket, however, he has technical flaws that are exposed in the longer format
@natty_forever
@dayne
Would not be surprised if he had more dots than all the rest of our batsmen put together in the series!!
@CCW
Nothing wrong with starting slow, a hope they don't get us wrong, just gets out when he tries to up the tempo.
@CCW
Carty S/Rs in the last 4 ODI innings..
66.66
62.33
54.16
37.03
In VOR world, nothing is wrong with that.. once he averages over 40.
What he failed to mention is that Carty once averaged over 60... now its down to 41.
@anthonyp
Name another WI odi batsman not named Shai Hope who averages more. Shai had the same issues in his first 100 odis and look where he is now. Oh btw Rutherfrod once averaged 81 and is now under 40.
@voiceofreason
Bro ...having a great ave is not necessarily pivotal to ur team being successful....to put into context if the whole team collectively had Carty's overall s/r of 75.55 over 50 overs it would equate to 226 runs which is not going to win you too many matches....let dat soak!!
@CCW
As much as I hate to say this, 226 would have won us at least one of the 3 we loss. But I get you. As Hope was before. Low S/R, average high, wouldn't win us games, unless someone comes and plays "a hetty inning".
There's no Lewis or Gayle type opener who can make a quick/aggressive start so you can't continue with Carty and Hope at 3 and 4.
@CCW
Ideally you want players to compliment each other and sometimes by having wickets in hand you allow guys like Hety and Sherfane to express themselves.
Hope has upped his s/r of late so I expect Carty to do the same with time. His S/r is 75 and ideally you would want your # 3 striking from 85 or 90+.
