Camrades!

That youth can flat out bat! Just watched some highlights.

I he can get over that 30+ hump he will be special!

I am also hearing about another youth Theo Edward in the U-19.

@voiceofreason

saw the highlights too and he has lots of talent. Question would you roast a young breadfruit? We've seen too many talented kids destroyed.

Wed, Jul 22, '26 at 5:36 PM

@Brerzerk

Yes agreed. However we do not have a quality FC system to groom him. We not even playing enough ATeam. I mean playing 3 FC games a year will not help his development, probably retard it as the reason why his average is so low. What i am happy about him is his work ethic and he has good familial support and investment.

@voiceofreason Shane Watson and Clarke his skip were together in a quality academy as 12yr olds. Even with that almost 30 yrs evidence WI cannot follow? A pox on all a wi houses! Let's suppose right after 2015 U19 WC Carry was placed in an academy or sponsored into a good Bim/TNT club or even English League ... Jewel, Auguste, Lawes being forced to learn their cricket at the highest level. Result so far???

Wed, Jul 22, '26 at 10:14 PM

@Brerzerk

Well he is a graduate of the academy and i think the Lankan Coach is doing some good work there. However we need academies in every territory but CWI don't have funds for that so this is where overnment and corproate sponsorship must come in. The youth once scored 300 in a game vs Dominica so he is capable. Results are pending for all. Jewel will still feature in T20IS.

@voiceofreason

Don't need academies in every region. Send the best youths to one damned good academy. As per my example above Watson is A Queenslander and Clarke from NSW

@voiceofreason

Yeah mun both Theo and Ackeem from the same district team Central Castries.

Much is expected of young Theo as well

Thu, Jul 23, '26 at 2:56 PM

@voiceofreason

I always told the doubters here that Ackeem is a special talent. When he does settle in the international game he'll be a treat to behold.

Just sayin

Theo to - ask Bish

@InHindsight

settlimg without proper development is the exception not rule.

Marlon 30low avg.

Warner had FC bonafides

Notice The Iz young lad who took on Warner on debut failed out here and isn't anywhere near Oz team now.

@Brerzerk

There are many armchair experts who don't know the amount of work some players put in to compensate for the substandard regional FC and List A cricket in our region. And we are quick to cry, "discard" especially for the young batters when they fail to compete at the level of, say the brilliant. Don't mind that they aren't abject failures.

We know the art of batting is one of the most difficult things in any sport. Added to the fact that it only takes one ball, sometimes by misfortune and you're out. Then they're judged harshly. Batters need time - you need a sample size to evaluate a batter. And more, time needed to improve and learn the nuances of the international game.

By all evidence Jangoo has put lots of work to show he belongs. He is not tbe only one.

Bowlers have a little more wriggle room as long as they have the requisite skills. Still, they need time.

But the myopism and tribalism of many insecure so-called fans who are interested in their own dots (we are all a bunch of dotties) as if it's their devine right and theirs only to represent WI. The days for that are OVER!!!

Somma these guys need to stop exposing their naivity. It looks stupid

Ackeem puts in the work. I know

Thu, Jul 23, '26 at 7:00 PM

@voiceofreason

It is gratifying that in St Lucia we now have an HPC that is supported by the National Cricket Association and the government. Ask me who is the president of the national association?

I will admit though that there as problems with its implementation that still stifles development. Despite, it's better than what obtained before.

I am prevy to information that the HPC has recently accepted a young prospect and potential WI player of high regard, from the northern Caribbean. I am aware because I know the family.

So much arguing for a man who has an average of 19 in ODI

Never scored a 50

Took 20 balls to get of the mark

Apparently insularity makes people blind and stupid

Thu, Jul 23, '26 at 8:18 PM

@pariaman

I couldn't ignore your lies or exaggerations.

A short career thus far and now averages 29.

So disingenuous about your 20 balls diatribe. The SR after the 20 didn't give you context or or maybe you didn't watch the batting in the last ODI.

Which one of your hommies you singing for? Or you just hate the players small the smaller islands?

Mun go take out the post in yuh eyes before you talk insularity.

And let him burn yuh
