Why Cricket Is The Best Sport of All

How do we decide which sport to follow? What are the characteristics of each sport that appeals most to its fan base? Are we attracted to the free-flowing, non-stop action of games like football, hockey, and basketball? Do we enjoy the degree of precision that golf, for example, requires? Or do we prefer sports that are very demanding physically, such as gymnastics and boxing?
Perhaps we stayed with the sports we grew up with, the ones our parents followed. Or, we chose to follow, for some reason, one or more of the myriad sports we were introduced to or that we happened upon.
I chose cricket. And I truly believe it’s the best sport in the world. Here’s why.
Like all sports cricket offers spectacle, uncertainty, drama and thrills. It features science and art in an interesting mix that appeals to its large number of adherents.
Cricket, without doubt, is the most egalitarian of sports. It accommodates a variety of shapes and sizes: from massive, rotund units like Rahkeem Cornwall and Dwayne Leverock, to spindly figures like Glenn McGrath; and from giants such as Jason Holder, Joel Garner and Morne Morkel to players much less blessed vertically like Parthiv Patel and Gundappa Viswanath.

For me yes ....but obviously subjective ... for sure it's one of the most complex (esp test cricket) definitely one of the most sociable cos yuh could be relatively clueless but still attend a game an have a great day out meeting an interacting with persons you hadn't known prior!

I can't agree cricket is the most egalitarian sport. Physical characteristic doesn't determine egalitarianism. Honestly football is the most accessible and egalitarian sport. Skills can be developed with nothing more than paper, cloth etc. And, on any surface buss up toe or not. That environment can display talents that end up on world stage with all its sophistication. Mi.love cricket to death though.

@Brerzerk

This was cricket in the West Indies up to the 1990s.

My navel string was cut at Sabina.
