Pitch Report | Samuel Badree: "It's nice and sunny, so no issues in terms of the weather.
This pitch is entering the most fascinating phase yet. We've had 14 wickets fall yesterday, and as I look closely at the surface, these cracks have widened up quite significantly. There are a few indentations as well. This one in particular grabbed my eye because of the length at which it is positioned. The cracks are parallel to the pitch, and some of them are perpendicular. The parallel ones will affect the lateral movement, the perpendicular ones will affect the bounce.
And what we have seen so far is the lowering of bounce on the surface as we've progressed through the course of the Test match. In fact, it's about 10 centimeters less on day three, and we expect that variability to continue as we go through as the sun bakes down on the surface.
And we also have the possibility of some of those deliveries kicking or bouncing higher on the batter. So it's going to be a real challenge for everyone who has to bat on this surface. West Indies still have three wickets in hand, 155 ahead. That is a lot more than it sounds. Pakistan, they'll have their work cut out for them when it's their turn to bat."
