Colin Munro, Alex Hales and Usman Tariq will return for the Trinbago Knight Riders along with two others when the 2026 edition of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League begins next month. Joining them will be 27 year-old South African middle order batter Matthew Breetzke and 24 year-old Sri Lankan all-rounder Amshi De Silva. The overseas player selections represent an attempt by TKR to maintain the core of their title-winning 2025 team.Breetzke joins as one of the most exciting young batting talents in world cricket, having announced himself with a record-breaking 150 on ODI debut against New Zealand. The South African represented Lucknow Super Giants in the 2025 IPL season and adds further steel to the middle order.
De Silva has come through the Sri Lanka’s age-group pathways, including the Under-19 World Cup, before representing Sri Lanka A. He gives the Knight Riders’ management further balance and depth in the middle order.
These five will combine with a core of West Indian talent headed by Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein, with Dwayne Bravo returning for his second season as head coach.
