A social media podcast posted that on the WI team getting to Tarouba and seeing the pitch, Sammy was reportedly very unhappy about the state of the pitch.

Then that podcast did a segment on WI constantly not having home advantage and how the team was built around fast bowling but these groundsmen (particularly in Guyana and Trinidad) keep preparing wickets not suitable to the WI team.

In a previous podcast, one even suggested that CWI should stop scheduling WI international matches at Providence.

I wonder if they will now issue an apology to the same Tarouba groundsmen?

More likely, they’ll pull a vor and put it down to the genius of Sammy that was able to overcome “the overwhelming odds” the team had to face on that pitch.

@imusic

Are they saying guyana and Trinidad's men are sabotaging WI, since inception these countries wickets were not conducive to fast bowling

The Poster was not wrong. We were saved by the toss. Both teams were pretty equal on that pitch but it clearly started to deteriorate from day 3. At the end of the day, these bowler friendly pitches like what we played on against Oz last year are actually our best chance of winning matches.

I think that the QPO pitches were relaid some years ago and have actually improved quite a bit
