Serious Question.

Did the West Indies miss Mr. A Joseph?

Could it be that the toxic atmosphere no longer exist and comaraderie was the order of the day which is a vital cog for achieving success?

Would Justin Greaves have bowled so many overs and his concomitant 5-wicket haul proving so vital in the win?

Would Mr. Joseph have achieved man of the match status?

Questions, questions questions...I hate to engage in hypotheticals in sports but Mr. Joseph may have inadvertently sacked himself from West Indies cricket.

In his absence "the stars have aligned." the team gelled nicely.

We cannot afford to sack Mr. A. Joseph. With our pace policy we need 6 quality pacers. We have Jayden and Shamar. Roach isnt physically up to. Greaves is a useful backup. We still need another two quality pacers who can stay fit and collect wickets. Phillips has the tools but is currently lacking accuracy. Layne is not ready yet.

So I still think we want to have Alzharri in the mix.

Answer to your first question is obviously NO...don't necessarily agree there was a toxic atmosphere with Aljo in the team, I've noted on the face of it we appear to have great team spirit but judging by Aljo's permanent demeanor you could mistakenly think otherwise if you haven't come to the conclusion as most ppl have that he appears to be a very moody, serious an possibly complex individual an is unlikely to change ...no i dnt think he's sacked himself...missing a test for "personal reasons" is not exactly a new phenomenon but obviously made worse by the idiotic egomaniac that is Darren Sammy not knowing how an when to keep things in house with a modicum of diplomacy....yes there is still very much a future for Aljo unless he indicates otherwise!

AlJo is smiling on the inside...

No one needs a bowler who throws a tantrum when catches are drop off his bowling. As a fielder would you feel comfortable with is? Can this add to a feeling of nervousness and affect a fileder's concentration?

.....................................

Now that a core of pacemen have been proven consistent, is it time to bring Nial Smith into the fold?

@Larr Pullo

I am smiling on the inside for he too.

Diabetes inducing AlJo is not a teenager any longer and his tantrums should not be tolerated by the team or management

i was at Kensington for the ODI against Eng when he got angry with something presumably a field setting. He remonstrated at Hope who looked at King in 1st slip seemingly to show AlJo there is a 1st in place notwithstanding his sweet bowling

he continued with his childish behaviour. None of the players understood why he was angry and shook their heads. He walked off the field at the end of his over

the guy has issues

@sudden

Every team sport can do without this sort of behaviour. It is disruptive and counter productive.

@Baje

Nial is extremely fragile

And as a result of your perspective, you have banished him to oblivion.

First of all you are speculating with that toxic talk.

The team won the Lankan test and series with Alzarri . They performed admirably vs NZD where Alzarri led the attack and played in all five matches which was quite surprising considering that he was coming off of an injury and played both test matches vs Lanka and had to play Pakistan right after. We lost that series 2-3 but had a catch been taken it could have been 3-2.

Like it or not Alzarri will be back as we do not have a talent like this especially with his experience and we also need to build on our fast-bowling stocks as injuries do happen.

Yes he has is issues but show me a perfect man and I will show you a perfect lie.

@voiceofreason

He has now butchered the nipple which feed him.

I have not banished him at all. He is too talented. I am simply saying that we are in no position to banish Alzharri

Wed, Jul 29, '26 at 12:21 PM

@Baje

Imho, Alzarri abandoned West Indies cricket in its hour of need.

It's amazing that for a Player who for nearly 10 years has played all formats and has never chased franchise money yet all of a sudden that is forgotten. I would think it would be a colossal failure of management to not find a amicable solution to this misunderstanding.

West Indies just won a test match, let's enjoy the moment and forget the negativity.
