Funeral Service for the great Garfield Sobers
Sir Gary Sobers to Sir Brian Lara:
"Young man you're not looking at the ball."
This is so fundamental to batsmanship (sexist, I know)), Never take your eye off the ball....from the bowlers hand to your bat.
This is the essence of batting. It helps you place the ball in gaps and it gives you that extra millisecond to play your shots.
Well said Brian.
@Courtesy
A basic in batting, and young cricketers should try it. You would surprised how difficult it would be to get out.
@Besar
If you watch the ball most times you will be playing the ball under your eyes.
Brandon King has this problem. He plays too soon couple with this his left leg does not move to the pitch of the ball. This is a recipe for batting failure.
Young Ackeem Auguste has a similar problem in addition to his premeditation.
Back to solemnity.
Sir Clive Lloyd to the administrators at CWI:
"...create opportunities for our young cricketers to play against the best in the region..."
When WICB at the time was advocating that our top players with WI contracts give priority to our premiere regional tournament instead of IPL, the myopic among us saw it as "restraint of trade."
Allyuh visonless souls should shut your traps shut when our cricket continues to spiral downwards.
