Makenzie the youngster, should replace this failure..

He hasn’t been a disaster. I think he’s had maybe three half centuries in his last seven innings. Not great but not bad either. Plus we don’t have many batters breaking the door down

@spider

Edrich is akin to the "One Trick Pony". He's just mentioning McKenzie in an attempt to throw off suspicion.

Sat, Aug 1, '26 at 3:23 PM

@Drapsey

all while hoping McKenzie comes in and also fails.

@spider

King have been failing, since opening with Kyle Myers, then Lewis.,and still failing

Sat, Aug 1, '26 at 7:36 PM

@Edrich

Agreed he has been failing at white ball but give him some more time at tests where he has played 9 matches @ 28.

Sat, Aug 1, '26 at 7:58 PM

@Edrich

I would like King to continue for now

@Edrich

While he has little in the deposit account...

I hope he gets a play tomorrow... I like the lad...I want to see him solve his shot selection problem...

My assessment: He unfortunately predetermines which shot he is going for next ball regardless of what the bowler delivers....clataxxx occurs more often than not.

@powen001

Agree.

@Brerzerk

I just cannot like this King guy.

This morning I so badly wanted him to get out so that I could head back to bed for my (usual) Sunday morning sleep-in, but it looks like all the facter was interested in doing was to stick his bat into Edrich's mouth (or somewhere else).

In the end he still failed by only getting the bat just below half-way there.

I disagree with you.

I posted here a while ago about King footwork, stride, playing away from his pads, and driving out ahead instead of under his eye.

I was amazed to head a Trini commentator speaking about King playing late this innings.

He however failed to see that King is playing too far from his pads consistently.

It may be just me, but why does trini commies only speak negative about non-Trini players.

Especially dat idiot Bishop.

They hardly have good tips for non-trini players.

Seales has been terrible, save last test innings, yet Bishop praises him.

Maybe if he speak the truth, Seales would show his worth.

I was pleased to see Seales talking and gesticulating less in the last innings.

And guess what, he had a five-fa.

He needs to learn from Roach.

Every-time Hope bats or gets out Bishop has a lot of negative things to say.

I wonder of Hope horne he.

Back to King.

Mr King, please work on your footwork please, especially when off-driving.

@TanteMerle

Looks like Reifer start earning his keep.

@TanteMerle

I am re watching his innings now...He looks really solid so far 29 off of 21 balls.

I like that after that beut of a first up spin delivery from Usman, King did not go into a shell.. He batted confidently.

He looks far better here than in previous outings...pardon the pun as I am sure he loses his wicket soon- 33 from 27 balls now...beautiful drives to the boundary from King

@TanteMerle

Funny enough...Rain delay and the comms are discussing what we are discussing;Kings technique and his clear EFFORT to address it.

Patience, playing the ball under the eyes , footwork....

I think both issues can be true based on our observations.

I am yet to see HOW he gets dismissed but I am satisfied that he is putting some work in to address his issues.

I wont discard him is my verdict
