They've played very well, I agree. However, they are basically playing in home conditions. The West Indies have, once again, rolled out the carpet for the tourists. With such an obvious advantage is the pace bowling department, they should never have prepared such a slow, low turner.

It makes a mockery of the home advantage, just as they did when India toured a few years ago for that dismal series with slow, low turners for each test match. Warrican & Chase, the two main spinners (one of whom is obviously hindered by a finger injury) are both 34 years old & neither have 100 test wickets. Chase goes for almost 50 per wicket(!) and Warrican over 30. Yet despite this clear weakness in the otherwise strong bowling department, they fail to assist their own fast bowlers.

Frankly, questions need to be asked about this because it is to the severe detriment of West Indies test cricket.

[On Warrican's six-wicket haul] Yeah, definitely. He was really good for us today, picking up six wickets, staying at the stumps, and using the conditions very well for us.

[On the discipline shown by the fast bowlers despite limited assistance] Yeah, it's something that we talked about this morning. Obviously, there's more assistance for the slower bowlers, and the pacers needed to be a little more consistent to allow them the time to be able to attack with the ball.
