The two spinners, i.e. Warrican & Chase, the latter of whom is patently limited with his finger injury, are both 34 years old and neither has 100 test wickets. Chase goes for almost 50 per wicket, Warrican over 30. That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. They should never have prepared such a tourist favoured wicket for a home test match. Pakistan's pace bowling is nowhere near the caliber of the West Indies yet they rolled out a slow, low turner.

Reminds me of that dismal series vs India a few years back when they did exactly the same for each of the test matches.

These sides never seem to return the favour when the West Indies visit though...

So this might be unpopular but Warrican didnt bowl well enough yesterday and allowed Pakistan to score too many runs. It's hard to castigate a man who took six wickets, and he improved today, but he was not threatening enough yesterday on a surface that was turning. Now he could turn up tomorrow and run through Pakistan like he has done before but I think he kinda let them off the hook yesterday

In the interview after the day's play Warrican said he figured out the adjustments he needed to make to be effective on the pitch. He might be better earlier in the second inning

Well, he'll need to be...ALL of the bowlers will because it does not look like the tourists will be chasing much of a target.

They are almost patting themselves on the back for that bowling display...despite the fact that Pakistan made nearly 400! Warrican picked up his wickets (eventually) but it was closing the gate after the horse had already bolted.

The pitch has done them with this one, they'll do especially well to win from here. This has gone on for way too long...home advantage is none existent when you produce slow, low turners for teams like Pakistan & India, as they have done during recent home series.
