His treament of Joseph is a clear indication of who he really is

The man literally misled the public and threw his own player under the bus this disgraceful action has no place in our cricket and must be stamped out immediately.

He is simply nit to be trusted he is toxic

Wed, Aug 5, '26 at 2:29 PM

@ponderiver

Didn't he team up with Gibson to do the same to players like Gayle, Sarwan and shiv when bthey installed him as cappo.

Jus imagine Sammy wondered aloud whether Chris Gale could fit into his {Sammy} hard working environment after gayle [at hid peak] was forced into the wilderness for over a year

@Narper

Sammy has shown himself to be fueld by self interest. The slippery snitch has a long history of throwing others under the bus in order to destroy their careers. Poor Sarwan and Shiv never fully recovered from the Sammy hatchet job

@ponderiver

Same guy previously stated that they were moving on from Roach before having to do an about turn.

Seems Sammy can't think before he talks.

Pretty much agree with the points made ...Sammy is a modestly educated egomaniac not media savvy an not able to articulate without offending ...any baby steps of progress that the team has made has not been because of him....its been inspite of him!!

2-1 1. Sammy haters still bawling! Well they have more bawling fi do.

Thu, Aug 6, '26 at 6:31 PM

Keep bawling everytime a sub-optimal result shows up.

Boo hoo.

The Sammy batty lickers dont have the integrity to address the comments Sammy made about Joseph. They see it as an attack on Sammy because he is dottie

Everyone knows he was given the position, can we at least be honest and admit he is all about himself and his dottie base and accept that he was wrong to make those comments he was effectively lying

The Power Play: Masking Tactical Failure with Public Blame

I believe that Sammy’s public outburst on the eve of a major Test series was a calculated deflection tactic. By changing the narrative from "the team is missing its best bowler" to "the player refused to show up," Sammy successfully shifted public scrutiny away from his own tactical preparation and onto Alzarri Joseph’s loyalty. It is a classic administrative survival mechanism: control the headline before the match even begins.

The Hypocrisy of a Former Player

The most striking element of Sammy's action is the sheer double standard. During his own playing career, Sammy was a champion for player rights. In 2016, he famously used his T20 World Cup victory speech to bash his own board for a lack of respect and communication toward players.

  • The Irony: Now that he sits in an executive position of authority, Sammy is using the exact same heavy-handed, corporate-board tactics he once fought against.

The Weaponization of "Culture"

Just as he did alongside Otis Gibson in 2011, Sammy is once again weaponizing the concept of a "hard-working environment" to enforce compliance.

  • By loudly questioning a player's commitment to the West Indies badge, Sammy creates a toxic environment where players must choose between protecting their physical health (like Joseph's stress-fractured back) or sacrificing their careers to prove their loyalty to the coach.

Irreparable Dressing Room Damage

By airing internal selection gripes to the media instead of keeping them behind closed doors, Sammy broke the ultimate dressing room rule: trust. He humiliated a premier asset publicly, effectively drawing a line in the sand. Joseph's blunt response ("I'm not representing Daren Sammy") proves that Sammy’s actions did not inspire discipline, they fractured the team's chemistry and alienated the leader of his bowling attack.

@sgtdjones

Sarge you have nailed it you eloquently summarised the pattern of duplicity and toxicity that is Sammy and it saddens me that his supporters continue to bury their heads in the sand

I saw him for what he was from the begining. That he was prepared to allow his undeserving self to be used to destroy the careers of more deserving cricketers is an abomination on our cricket

We will not progress until we bring some honesty and integrity to the board. Had he an ounce of shame he would have resigned with immediate effect

All of his supporters will have no credibility until they acknowledge his treachery

With one two tests series to go, there is not much to shout about either ....

Digest this:

West Indies
Tests: 12, W-L-D: 2-8-2, Pct 20.83
Remaining series: vs Ban (a) (2 Tests)
With just two Tests remaining, the maximum that West Indies can finish on is 32.14%.

That is dead last

@Kay

We had the toughest schedule of all the teams !

3 games vs OZ.

2 away India

3 away to NZD.

So context is crucial.

Nothing to be ashamed about.

Sat, Aug 8, '26 at 7:31 PM

@sgtdjones

I have already addressed this. This is played out now. Alzarri will be back in West Indian colors and all will be fine. It's amazing that many who are championing Alzarri's cause was criticising his inconsistencies and even calling for him to be dropped.

Please focus on our improvements and quit with the distractions and obfuscations.

We have had 10 centuries this test cycle and 2 the last, time to celebrate!

@Onionman0

Sammy will be around for a while so suck it up.

Check this:

10 Test tons this cycle, 2 in the last.

5 Test batsmen averaging around 50 this year: Hope ( white ball), Greaves, Chase( white baller) , Campbell and Jangoo. Hodge and Jangoo were dropped under Coley and Sammy brought them both back.

The team is on the up but your hate towards Sammy will continue to blind you.
