What was really going on with Josh last night?

Sun, Aug 9, '26 at 11:49 AM

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots v Trinbago Knight Riders

TKR needed 22 runs to win and Josh was at the crease with 18[22

Josh was struggling with what appeared to be exhaustion. He was sweating heavily, his face was red and he was stooping in between balls.

Many attempts were made by team management to get him off the field. He refused to leave apparently telling those came to get him off that he was okay. But he did not look okay.

Looks like Coach Bravo finally read the riot act and Josh was escorted off. He reluctantly left the field.

I don't think he was removed only because of RR but he did not look well out there.

Seen that happen to him before, I remember when he scored that match winning century against England a few years ago he was totally out on his feet.

From what I remember he could barely walk off. It made the century even more commendable.

Think he has a high level of fitness but he might suffer with some sort of heat intolerence or dehydration.

@Conorboy

It was strange because he was not long out there batting ,,,,but he did keep wicket during the patriot innings...but then there were rain breaks too.

Can easily be he ate a bad doubles, had the runs before and was in electrolyte imbalance.

Bravo pull the plug on Josh who was playing a selfish knock. Less than a run a ball chasing a small total. Akeal when asked the reason for pulling Josh , said that he was not feeling well before the match and they did not want to risk injury lol. Utter rubbish.
