The destruction of Vitel Lawes

Experienced batsmen and inexperienced captains will cause the destruction of Lawes.

Such bowlers are batsmen nightmare when playing on worn pitches created by batsmen cleats.

Lack of Rough Patches:

A new pitch does not have the "decayed parts" or footmark indentations created by fast bowlers' cleats.

True Skidding: Without physical imperfections to grip the leather, the ball slides and skids off the turf effortlessly, coming directly onto the bat.

True Bounce: The bounce is perfectly consistent, letting T20 batsmen blindly trust the trajectory without fearing erratic deviation.

No Holding in the Surface: On a fresh wicket, the ball doesn't "stick" or slow down upon pitching.

Using the Pace: Because Lawes bowls with excellent wrist revolutions, a flat surface allows batsmen to use his own momentum against him, using simple check-shots or extensions to clear the boundary ropes.

Easier Line Tracking: Without the threat of sharp turn from a crack, batsmen can easily plant their front foot, line up the delivery, and swing cleanly through the line of the ball.

Punished Variations: On a worn pitch, even a slightly misdirected googly or leg-break can turn or bounce awkwardly to save the bowler. On a pristine corporate T20 highway, a minor slip in length results in an immediate six.

Mental Pressure: When a young mystery spinner realizes the deck is offering zero assistance, anxiety can creep in. This leads to shorter or fuller deliveries that an experienced batting order will ruthlessly destroy.

Sarge

Note: Unfortunately he has no one at CWI to help.

If Shah had any sense, Lawes may have won it. Imagine.

He didn't seem broken with the bat! Man almost got his revenge! Why did young Shah not sacrifice his wicket for Vitel to get strike?
