The Trinbago Knight Riders will be facing a desperate and determined Jamaica Kingsmen side when they play their second match in this Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League campaign. The two teams meet at Sabina Park tonight with the reactivated Jamaica franchise, operating as the Kingsmen, still searching for their first win after three straight defeats.
“I think this is where captaincy and a good coaching staff comes to play,” Kingsmen captain Rovman Powell said after Thursday’s decisive six-wicket defeat to the Guyana Amazon Warriors. “We have to find ways of instilling confidence within the boys. But having said that, we still as players need to find a complete game,” he added.
The crowd at Sabina Park has had little to cheer so far, but Powell is calling for patience and more support tonight. He feels his unit will “turn it around” at some point. Tonight, he will hope, will be that point.
