These Aussies aren't indomitable anymore

Mon, Aug 17, '26 at 9:54 AM

From since a very inexperienced WI team dismantled the Aussies on their last tour of Australia albeit the one and last game, the cracks had began to show.

In their return visit to the WI during this test cycle, last year, had our batting showed some gumption we could have won ever match.

Personally I think India, South Africa and New Zealand are far better teams.

To be beaten so soundly(/humiliated) by an Asian team aside from India in Australia - Bangladesh, only means the fissures are only widening.

Moving forward, I won't be surprised to hear of series defeats by "lesser" test playing countries. Hopefully the ICC can take note and show more equity in their purses, for the advancement of the game internationally. But I won't hold my breath, so to speak

@InHindsight

they were never indomitable. From the time they panicked during sandpapergate, they were in trouble. Rabada showed them that they all had a big weakness on fourth stump line and deliveries going away from or into off stump. Bumrah took that and also showed they weren't that good against the short ball either....come the pandemic, mohammed siraj used both those discoveries to fantastic effect in the 2022 series just outside of covid and it was all over. yes they beat them in the WTC final but I put the blame for that defeat squarely on Rohit Sharma's shoulders(dropping your best spinner) and Bumrah was injured. but they always had glaring weaknesses that bowlers could expoit, very transparent weaknesses as well.

travis head is the most overrated mook in the sport, he never hits the ball off the middle in defense, that's why he regularly plays on and edges....smith bats like a hunchback flea with ADHD, Laubaschagne needs an intervention or an exorcism, cameron green is talentless and its an insult to kallis calling him the new kallis.
