King with his ongoing back spasms.....Greaves has had various recently also Hope...upto last night Allen injured his side diving an had to go off with ice pack treatment....an yet they are more pampered than ever before with water breaks ,bananas an a belly rub😂....more understandable for fast bowlers .....could it be generally speaking that players of yesteryear looked after themselves better.....bring back Dennis Waight😀....those of you old enough would remember him!
Why these young fellas so injury prone?
Players play much more matches in these times, cricket is played at a much more intense level than the past.
Simple answer - they are not fit. When ever this question comes up I give the examples of Kohli and Shiv Chanderpaul.
When Virat realized that he was failing, he changed his diet and exercise regime and dedicated himself in a disciplined manner 365 days per year.
When Shiv trained, he did so in the hot sun for 8 hours with the bowling machine. When asked why he was doing that he responded that a day's play is overall 8 hours.
Our players want to be treated as and paid as professionals but do not want to do the work and make the necessary sacrifices. I had a friend who played professional rugby in England. He also played for England. He said more than once his club bought the top amateur player and some could not stand up to the training. The difference between amateur and professional in today's sports world is vast.

True enough but as a result they should also be fitter ....King's (back spasms) an Greaves thigh injury when running for a quick single has nothing to do with today's intense levels ...those are individual fitness issues...likewise Allenl ast night)diving to field a ball an hurting his side wasn't no particular acrobatics required.....yes more intense esp t20's an ODI's ...but lets face it younger generation softer!!
Bobby, both cases involve man in the sun training and running
these guys live a gym, PlayStation and Instagram life now
