Guyana Amazon Warriors cantered to a statement third-consecutive win in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League on Sunday, claiming a commanding seven-wicket victory over hosts the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons.
Shamar Joseph led the visitors’ bowling with figures of 3 for 22, helping to skittle the Falcons for 116 in 17 overs. Player of the match Khary Pierre and captain Imran Tahir also played key roles with the ball before Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope combined to complete an emphatic performance.
The Falcons, who were inserted, were restricted to 49 for 2 in the powerplay before the spin duo of Imran Tahir and Mohammad Nabi put the squeeze on in the post-powerplay overs, conceding just 33 runs from overs seven through to 11.
