Marine Corps Boot Camp...

...is stupid and spiritually depraved.

This is a documentary told from the first hand experiences of a former Marine.

"Marine corps boot camp is probably the most degrading experience available to a person who does not plan on going to prison. Public perception of recruit training centers on images of physical challenge and of young men pushed to their limits becoming something harder they were before. The Marine Corps spends a great deal of money on advertising to maintain this perception."
"It is an appealing image and flattering to everyone involved. Those who experience it get to present themselves as having endured an almost superhuman trial while the institution gets to present itself as a proving ground for exceptional warriors."
"Most marines are happy to leave this impression in place because it reflects well on us. The reality is not as exciting and considerably more stupid. Boot camp is not for the most part physically difficult. It is design to be passed because a recruit who fails is a waste of time of months and money getting him to this point."
"And so the bar is set at a level that an average person of below average determination will graduate. While not difficult, the experience is uniquely miserable and degrading for reasons which will be the focus of this video."
