Trinbago Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to field

Nicholas Pooran: We're going to bowl first. Obviously, it was raining around this morning, and probably will get a bit dew in the night. So we want to obviously utilize the conditions as much as possible with the bowl first. [On playing at the home ground] It's amazing, Trinidad is a special place. We represent the people of Trinidad and Tobago with much respect. This is a really good time of year for us as well. So really happy to be home. We have two changes. A couple enforced changes, a couple niggles in the camp, and obviously looking after a couple players.

Roston Chase: It's cricket, so we either win or we lose, but I would have bowled first as well. Obviously with the weather around and a bit of dew coming in this ground, it's usually heavy with dew, so we would have liked to bat second, but it is what it is. [On the win vs Jamaica Kingsmen] It's very nice. T20 is a game of momentum, so to get that momentum to come here, this is always a big game for us, but we always come to Trinidad and do well, so we're looking forward for the challenge. Two changes.

Pitch report | Ian Bishop and Kesrick Williams:
First game of this leg of the Trinidad and Tobago CPL 2026. We've had a lot of torrential rain through the day. I've walked across the outfield. Everything's coming across the outfield, and it's not too bad, actually. We have a lot of white sand where I'm standing and some of the areas that might have been waterlogged a little bit earlier. So if no more rain, we're hoping this stands up well.
And talking about weather reports, there's a 20% chance of showers. I hope that doesn't materialize. The temperature will range from 26 degrees to 30 degrees, with only a light wind.
