What data!

Sun, Sep 6, '26 at 5:49 AM

A forum like this is supposed to be just like guys sitting on the block and discussing issues of the day, whether sports, regional, international issues. If you had a solid educational base, attained a certain level of education, life experiences, and have kept up your readings on all kinds of subjects in books, magazines, newspapers etc, you ought to have developed a solid repertoire of knowledge to be able to come to a forum/block like this and speak/write straight from the head on any issue. So when someone makes a statement about a whole lot West Indian men being dumped by X or social media, why do they have to have to provide data? This is a general observation based on "trained observation" in many cases. people read, listen, view a range of platforms on a daily basis. that combined with the attributes above allow us to engage in mature analyzes and , evaluation. In a classroom, if we are writing an academic paper, we need to support our positions. Also, on public forum like this, if we make certain sensitive statements, we may need to back up. But, here is for general, mature, educated, and free discussions. I try my best, never to quote anybody here; never to cut and paste, and never to seek assistance from AI. When i come here, it is straight from the head.

Honestly, above it’s pure word salad. This person is trying way too hard to sound like the smartest guy in the room, but if you actually unpack what he is saying, it completely unravels.

The whole post is just a massive shield to protect one's ego. He basically starts by saying, "Hey, this forum is just a casual spot for guys to hang out and talk trash." But then immediately, flip it and say, "But because I’m so highly educated, read lots of books, and have 'trained observation,' my random opinions are actually elite, mature analysis and you should just take my word for it."

It’s incredibly arrogant. He is trying to argue that he is too smart to need facts. He claims that because he writes "straight from the head" without quoting anyone or using AI, whatever pops into his brain is automatically correct.

But the funniest part? He completely tripped over his own feet halfway through. He literally wrote that people should back up "sensitive statements." Yet, he is defending a massive, sweeping generalization about West Indian men getting dumped! By his own definition, that’s a sensitive social statement that needs proof.

It’s just a pompous way of saying, "I want to state my biases as facts, and because I think I'm smart, no one is allowed to question me." It’s no wonder the rest of the forum is ignoring it, it's too exhausting to even argue with that kind of fake intellectualism.

Point well taken. I would say though that how much referencing one does to support their post is a matter of choice.

The constant and obvious long winded copy paste is unbecoming though...and I see your post has inspired another episode of it.

Vrooooom I gaaaaan.

Woi! Are you certain that they are all ignoring my post, or is it more a case of who the cap fit is wearing it?

There is an old African saying that "every time old people hear 'dried bones' mentioned in a proverb, they get uneasy."
