Whatever may happen from here, one thing looks almost certain in this edition of the CPL - the Guyana Amazon Warriors are heading for the playoffs. They are second on the points table, have already begun their home leg with a comprehensive win over the Jamaica Kingsmen, and have four more home games to come over the next week.
Most importantly, they remain the only unbeaten side in the competition. Standing in their way today are the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who arrive on the back of two successive wins. A victory for Guyana would take them to the top of the table, while a win for the visitors would see them climb to third.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have won the toss and have opted to bat

Jason Holder: [On the decision to bat first] Traditionally, it's good to put runs on the board here in Guyana. I think the pitch wouldn't really change much, but we prefer to put runs on the board. [On the momentum from the recent wins] A bit of momentum, which is key. The boys have been playing some good cricket the last couple of games, so hopefully we continue that momentum today. [On changes to the team] No, it's the same team.

Imran Tahir: [On having to bowl first] It's a good challenge. Something different, and we're really up for it. I know it's going to be a little bit hot, but there are clouds around, so hopefully we put up a good show, like we've been doing. No, it's the same team.

Pitch report | Ian Bishop: [On the overhead conditions and start time] It's great to inform you that it's the first 3pm start this season. The overhead conditions suggest that there is very little chance of rain, just 20%, and with all the blue sky, I'm hopeful that that won't realise. The wind comes across the ground quite nicely, actually, at 15 kilometres per hour, so that keeps things cool enough for the players.
