Apart from Guyana Amazon Warriors, whose name reflects its landscape, how do the names of the other franchises reflect the character of those nations? Could we not be more creative in selecting names? Maybe a contest among school children in the respective territories might have derived names associated with the respective territories. Jamaica Kinsmen, St. Lucia kings? Why not something that reflects Jamaica's history or culture like the Maroons or Taino. A name like the St. Lucia's Pitons or kaligano would have made more sense. Do we not have native animals, such as the cocrico bird of Tobago or scarlet Ibis of Trinidad? There are many other cultural symbols that could have been used. We do have falcon birds around the islands, but are they natives or seasonal dwellers? The Barbados Trident's, and St. Kitts Patriots? That patriots thing is not unique, and certainly, Stafanie Taylor and Chinnelle Henry are no empresses, they represent the fire of Nanny, the Maroon.

How about we use limited resources of time and personnel to improve the quality of the actual cricket? Then I’d say there was energy for this. The stands were empty.
